GATE 2025 Examination Format and Structure
GATE 2025 will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in English. The GATE 2025 exam will include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), which have four options with one correct answer and feature negative marking for incorrect responses.
There will also be Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) in GATE 2025, where more than one answer may be correct and no negative marking is applied. Additionally, GATE 2025 will feature Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions that require numerical answers and will not have negative marking.
Marking Scheme
- 1-Mark MCQs: Deduction of 1/3 mark for incorrect answers.
- 2-Mark MCQs: Deduction of 2/3 mark for incorrect answers.
- MSQ and NAT: No negative marking.
Exam Sessions
The GATE 2025 exam each day will have two sessions:
- Forenoon Session: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
GATE 2025 Admit Cards and Results
Admit Cards for GATE 2025 will be available for download starting January 2, 2025, on the official GATE 2025 website https://gate2025.iitr.ac.in/. The results are scheduled to be announced on March 19, 2025. Score Cards can be downloaded for free from March 28, 2025, to May 31, 2025. After this period, a fee of ₹500 per test paper will apply for downloading Score Cards from June 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
