The Corrigendum & Addendum No.-2 for the Recruitment of Technicians Gr. III under CEN No. 02/2024, issued by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), brings significant changes to the original notification. These modifications are primarily focused on the expansion of available vacancies and the inclusion of additional categories of posts. Initially, the recruitment notice specified 9,144 vacancies for Technician Grade III in 17 categories across the Indian Railways. However, in response to increased demand from various Zonal Railways and Production Units, the vacancy count has been raised to 14,298 with the addition of 22 new categories. This enhancement not only increases the number of opportunities but also diversifies the range of technical fields now covered under this recruitment drive.

The educational qualifications, medical standards, and eligibility criteria for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) have been revised for the newly added categories (Cat. No. 19 to 40). These details are elaborated in Annexure A-2 of the document.
Meanwhile, the parameters for the previously announced categories (Cat. No. 2 to 18) remain unchanged, as defined in the original notification and outlined in Annexure A of CEN No. 02/2024. This ensures that both newly added positions and those already announced are clearly defined in terms of requirements, enabling candidates to understand the specific qualifications and standards needed for each role.
