The Union Ministry of Education has released the National Institute of Education Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings on September 2, 2024. This (2024) year, IIT Chennai has been ranked as the top educational institution in India, continuing its legacy of excellence.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, has been recognized as the best university in the country, securing the first position among national-level universities. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia University, both in Delhi, have been ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
In the arts and science category, Hindu College, Delhi, has been named the best college, followed by Miranda House College and St. Stephen’s College, both in Delhi. Anna University, Chennai, leads among state government universities, while Coimbatore’s Bharathiar University and Vellore VIT University are ranked 8th and 10th, respectively. In medical education, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, ranks 3rd, while Savita Medical College, Chennai, tops the dental college list.
