Madurai, Tamil Nadu, September 2024: Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) has released important notifications regarding the 2nd Round of Contact Seminar Classes for students enrolled in the 22AY Batch (5th Semester). These contact seminars are essential for students pursuing undergraduate degrees across various streams such as Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management. The seminars provide an opportunity for students to engage with faculty members from the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) and institutions affiliated with MKU.
Originally scheduled for two days, the seminar classes will now be held only on 29th September 2024 (Sunday) due to administrative reasons. The classes previously set for 28th September 2024 (Saturday) have been cancelled. This revised schedule is crucial for students, as attending these seminars helps bridge the gap between distance education and direct academic engagement.
The Contact Seminar Classes will cover a variety of undergraduate courses:
Courses Included |
---|
B.A. (Tamil, English, History, Economics, Political Science) |
B.Sc. (Mathematics, Psychology, Microbiology) |
B.Com. (General, CA) |
BBA |
BCA |
Venue and Timings
The contact seminar sessions will be conducted at specific locations on the Madurai Kamaraj University campus. For Arts and Commerce students (B.A., B.Com., BBA), the seminar will be held at Madurai Kamaraj University College (‘A’ Block) located on Alagar Kovil Road, while the Science students, specifically those in B.Sc. Microbiology, will attend the seminar at the PG Block, DDE on the same campus.
The seminar classes will follow the schedule below:
Schedule | Time |
---|---|
Seminar Start Time | 9:00 A.M. |
Tea Break | 11:00 A.M. to 11:15 A.M. |
Lunch Break | 1:15 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. |
Seminar End Time | 4:00 P.M. |
Students must ensure they attend both the morning and evening sessions, as attendance will be recorded during both. This attendance will be critical for tracking student participation, and students who fail to attend may affect the scheduling of future seminars if their classes are consistently under-attended.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
The university has confirmed that the classes scheduled for 28th September 2024 have been cancelled due to administrative reasons. Students are advised to attend the seminar on 29th September 2024 (Sunday), which will now be the only available date for this round of contact classes. The university has not announced alternative dates for the cancelled sessions, so students must plan accordingly.
