The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO) presents a significant opportunity for recent engineering diploma holders through its Technician (Diploma) Apprenticeship program. This one-year apprenticeship is available across various engineering disciplines, but there is a crucial deadline approaching: July 31, 2024.

This is the final date to complete enrollment in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal to be eligible for applying to TANGEDCO. To apply for the TANGEDCO Technician (Diploma) Apprenticeship, candidates must first enroll in the NATS portal. The deadline for this enrollment is July 31, 2024. Completing this step is essential to be considered for the apprenticeship position

Enrolling in the NATS portal is a crucial first step in the application process for the TANGEDCO apprenticeship. This NATS  portal is used to manage and process applications for apprenticeships across various organizations:

Steps to Enroll in NATS Portal:

• Access the NATS Portal: Start by visiting NATS Portal.
• Login Details: Click on ‘Student’ followed by ‘Student login.’
• Forgot Password: If needed, click ‘Forgot Password,’ enter your registered email ID, and follow the instructions to reset it.
• Complete Enrollment: After resetting your password and logging in, finalize your enrollment. A unique 12-digit Enrollment number will be generated for you.

Application Process for TANGEDCO Apprenticeship

After completing enrollment on the NATS portal, candidates need to apply for the TANGEDCO apprenticeship. This TANGEDCO process includes three steps:

• Login with Credentials: Log in to the NATS portal using your email ID and new password.
• Search for TANGEDCO: In the section “Apply against advertised Apprenticeship vacancies,” search for “TANGEDCO.”
• Submit Application: Click ‘Apply’ to submit your Apprenticeship application. Your application status will then display as “applied.”

Details of Available Vacancies In TANGEDCO

TANGEDCO has announced multiple vacancies across several engineering disciplines. Here are the details:

• Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 395 vacancies
• Electronics and Communication Engineering: 22 vacancies
• Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering: 09 vacancies
• Computer Engineering/Information Technology: 09 vacancies
• Civil Engineering: 15 vacancies
• Mechanical Engineering: 50 vacancies

Eligibility Criteria for TANGEDCO Apprenticeship

To be eligible, candidates must have a full-time diploma in engineering or technology. This diploma should come from a State Council, Board of Technical Education, or University in a related field. Also, the diploma must be from an institution recognized by the State or Central Government.

Reservation Guidelines

Reservations are provided under the Apprenticeship Act for SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories. Candidates claiming reservations must provide the required certificates in the government-approved format. Failure to do so will result in the claim being considered under the ‘General’ category. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates should also provide an OBC (NCL) certificate from the appropriate authority.

Selection Procedure

The Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) will handle the selection process. Candidates will be selected based on their marks. Selected candidates will get an email. They will need to go to the TANGEDCO office to check their certificates.

Please Note:

• Upload the Diploma Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet.
• The percentage of marks in the Diploma Examination is mandatory.
• Therefore, candidates must enter their percentage of marks in the “% of marks” field on the NATS portal.
• If you don’t provide your percentage of marks, your application will not be accepted.
